Congratulation to the class of 2006. My bill for about 17 canvasses and several uncounted phone banks appears below. It reflects all I ever expect in return for such activity.
Otis will never be the same.

This incoming group is nothing less than fantastic! We're looking forward to a great session next year.
It's also vital to make note of all of the outstanding candidates who ran this year throughout the state--their efforts were crucial. We were able to be on offense in so many districts, and that has paid off with the first Democratic majority in 16 years.
HUGE THANKS TO ALL OF OUR CANDIDATES!!!!
We're continuing our "every district strategy" for 2008. If you would like to be on the email list to keep track of what is going on in Salem this session and on the candidate recruitment effort for the next election, please email me at info@peterbuckley.org
If you are interested in running for the House, or if you want to recommend people in your community who we should talk to, let us know!

It's nice to see you enjoying the session Peter. Last time you were a bit sour.
Keep reaching for the moon.

On April 22nd the Oregonian reported that the state can expect to spend more on its 13,401 prisoners than on its 438,000 university and community college students. Currently Oregon ranks 43rd in the country for state and local spending on higher education, 45th for affordability of higher education and 46th in educational funding per student. Continuing current funding trends will have dire effects on Oregon’s economy.
Every college credit completed will raise the student's earnings $85 a year for the rest of the students career. Oregons workforce currently embodies 88 million credits, leading to a direct economic impact to Oregon's economy in excess of $8 bllion annually. Additionally every dollar spent on a community college student will return $4.60 to the state due to tax revenue from the student's increased earnings. Oregon's universities and community colleges pay for themselves.
Budget cuts since 2001 have resulted in fewer class offerings and a 15% drop in enrollment at Oregon's community colleges. It's time to reexamine spending patterns and determine what our priorities really are.

In the Oregon Roadmap, I noticed that you included access to health insurance for low-income children, but did not mention low-income adults. Are low-income adults not as important as low-income children? Shouldn't health care be available to EVERYONE?
